With the heat wave breaking, Colby High School will take advantage of the chance to spend a little time outside. An 81ºF day with an 8-mile-an-hour wind in the ten-day forecast sounds just about right.
On Wednesday, September 28th, at 9:00 am, we will simulate a fictitious gas leak in the CHS Kitchen. Students will be completing a full evacuation to help us respond and re-evaluate for this very realistic situation. This drill will be held in cooperation with the Thomas County Safety Department.
On the 28th, should you see emergency vehicles or a large number of students walking to the Colby Event Center, please know that it is a scheduled drill. Our staff is proactively helping our students learn what needs to happen to stay safe in this type of emergency.
