School Board Recognition
by Terrel Harrison
January is School Board Recognition Month - a time to thank our school board members for their commitment to children in our community.
These are exciting, yet challenging times in public education. The decisions that must be made are difficult ones. School board members of USD 315 develop policies and make tough decisions that help shape the future of our education system, and in turn our community.
Showing appreciation for the important work of school boards should be year-round, but too often we neglect to recognize the dedication and hard work of these individuals. This January, please take a moment to thank a school board member. Recognize them for giving of their time and fulfilling this civic responsibility to make local control of public schools in our community possible.
As Superintendent, I applaud the USD 315 Board of Education for their vision and willingness to accept the responsibility of preparing our students to be life-long learners and responsible citizens. USD 315 Board of Education members are Janice Frahm (President), Tracy Rogers (Vice-President), Brice Barton, Angie Gaede, Ed Geihsler, Susan McLemore, and Omar Weber.
