Fall Sports Starting Soon!
Dear Parents and Students:
Just a reminder, practices for fall sports are scheduled to begin on Monday, August 15, 2011. I would like to take this opportunity to encourage students to get involved in the athletic programs that we have to offer in U.S.D. #315 Colby Public Schools. I believe that by being involved will help the student with their achievements in the classroom. If you have not received information regarding practice times, please contact the coach for your sport.
Please keep in mind that all students, grades (7-12) participating in sports (including cheerleading and dance team) are required to have a completed physical, risk form and emergency form and the NEW Concussion form BEFORE they can begin practice. Physical forms are available at the Dr.’s offices, High School, Middle School and the District Office.
Please note that all participants need to pay an activity fee of $30.00 per student per sport (including cheerleading and dance team). This fee is reduced to $15 or waived if eligible for the reduced or free lunch program. A maximum cost of $90.00 per student per year will be accessed. We will not be collecting these fees at enrollment. We request that activity fees to be paid at the respective buildings in which your son or daughter attends (M.S. or H.S.) during the first week of practice for each season. It is very important that these fees be paid during the first week of practice. We also ask that your student be timely in turning in the equipment/uniforms that are theirs to use during the sport season. If they do not, they will NOT be able to begin the next season sport or they will be asked to pay for the equipment/uniform. Another reminder, that the High School will no longer provide meal money for your student as they travel to sporting activities.

We have also implemented an “Activities Hotline” that will have a recording of the calendar events day by day. Please call 785-460-5090 to listen to the current activities for the day.
We hope that these two means of communication will keep you informed as to the calendar changes as they occur. We strongly encourage you to use either or both of them.
