SCHOLARS’ BOWL TEAM DOMINATES REGIONALS & PLACES 5TH IN 4A STATE COMPETITION

by Larry Gabel, activities/athletics director

February 15, 2010

On February 10 the Colby High School Scholars’ Bowl Team traveled to Kingman to participate in the Regional Scholars’ Bowl Tournament.  The tournament had been postponed two times prior to the 10th due to bad weather.  The old saying of “third times a charm” proved to be a good thing for the Colby Eagles.  They completely dominated their competition winning 12 matches and losing 0.

This momentum hurled the Eagles into State competition where they placed 5th out of the best 4A teams in the state.  Coaches Christy Garretson and Aaron Lamble were very pleased with how their team seemed to gel in the end. Team members were Gray H., Jake R., Gunner G., Sara M., and Madison G.
