Notice of Changes for Colby Grade School
August 24, 2010
We are excited to start the 2010-2011 school year! To get started on the right foot we would like to point out a few changes. If you have any questions please feel free to call the office at 460-5100.
- The tardy policy has changed. Please see page 14 in the handbook.
- School will start at 8:00 and dismiss at 3:30. You can drop your child off at 7:30. They will stay in the gym until 7:55. Please remember that all students are to go to the gym and not their classrooms if they arrive before 7:55.
- All grade school students will eat lunch in the middle school cafeteria. If you want to eat lunch with your child the cost is $3.55. Kindergarten, first, and second grade parents need to check in at the grade school office and purchase a lunch ticket. Then you will walk over with your child’s class. Please come 15 minutes early to purchase a ticket and get a visitors pass.
- Breakfast for all grade school students will be in the middle school cafeteria from 7:20 to 7:50. Please drop your child off at the circle drive on the west side of the middle school if they are eating breakfast. We will stop serving breakfast promptly at 7:50. No one allowed to eat breakfast after that time.
- We will have a Sneak Peek on Wednesday, August 25th from 5:00 to 6:00. Students will have a chance to come up and meet their teacher and bring their school supplies that night.
- Kindergarteners will be picked up in front of the grade school office. This is a moving line and the teachers will bring your child to the vehicle. After you have picked up your child please turn left onto 2nd street (right in front of the office).
- There will no parking in front of the grade school office from 3:20 to 3:45 everyday.
- Students will not be allowed to be picked up at any other location that is not specified on the after school plans form unless a call has been made to the grade school office by 3:00. Students will not be allowed to go to cars that stop in the middle of the street in front of the buildings. If you need to enter the building during pick up times, please park at a location other than the pick up zones.
