Colby High School's 2008 Eagle yearbook has been recognized for excellence and featured in the 2009 Gotcha Covered Look Book. Published annually by yearbook leader Jostens, the Look Book features yearbook spreads and covers from across the country. The Gotcha Covered Look Book is a popular reference guide for yearbook advisers and staffs seeking creative design and coverage ideas, trends and inspiration.
The Eagle was created by the 2007-08 staff under the direction of Donna Henry, adviser.
"One of our goals last year was to make the Look Book," Henry said. "We literally squealed when we opened the book and saw our Prom spread featured."
The Eagle was one of only 435 yearbooks selected from more than 2,500 books submitted to a panel of judges that included nationally recognized scholastic journalism professionals and award-winning yearbook advisers.
"Yearbook staffers capture once-in-a-lifetime stories that will be saved for decades," said Gary Lundgren, Jostens senior program manager/education. "The yearbooks chosen for Jostens' 2009 Gotcha Covered Look Book showcase advances in design, photography and journalistic excellence that reflect the sophistication and significance of today's yearbook programs."
Henry and her yearbook staff received a copy of Jostens' 2009 Gotcha Covered Look Book and a certificate from Jostens to recognize their outstanding achievement.
According to Henry, this is the first time in the school's history that The Eagle has been included in the Look Book.
