FIFTH GRADERS TO TEST

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) is a computerized assessment program that provides educators the information they need to improve teaching and learning as well as plan school improvement. Using the achievement data from the MAP tests, teachers are able to make student-focused decisions regarding placement in reading groups and instructional techniques for the classroom. Areas tested include Reading, Math, and Language Arts, with all fifth grade students being tested in the Fall and Spring.
MAP tests are adaptive, meaning that they continually adjust to each student's performance level. As a student answers a test question on the computer, his or her response is analyzed and, based on how well the student has answered previous items, a question of appropriate difficulty is selected to display next. Because the questions are chosen specifically for the student taking the test, it is possible to attain a better indicator of a student's true achievement and academic needs.
FIFTH GRADERS WILL BE TESTING ACCORDING TO THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE:
⇒ Tuesday, 9/02: Reading ⇒ Wednesday, 9/03: Math ⇒ Thursday, 9/04: Language Usage
PARENTS: Making sure your child gets a good night's sleep the night before and eats a good breakfast on test day will help him or her be physically ready to take the test!
