Spring sports at Colby High School have started. The track team has 26 girls and 34 boys out. Colby will host three home meets this year. May 2 is the Colby Invitational followed by the NWKL on May 9. Colby is pleased to host the 4A Regional on May 16. Girls’ softball has 26 active participants. The site of the Regional softball tournament will be in Pratt May 12-15. Boys’ baseball has 20 out and will still attempt to play a varsity and a junior varsity schedule. Baseball regionals have been assigned to Russell May 12-15. Currently our boys’ tennis team has 12 individuals representing Colby High School. We are excited to host the regional tennis tournament May 1. One of the biggest surprises this spring is the boys’ golf team. There are 34 young men competing for the top six positions and a chance to represent Colby. The regional golf tournament will be in Pratt May 12. If the fall and winter sports are any indication of good things to happen, this spring should be exciting.
The Colby Forensics team is off to a great start. So far, they have placed no lower than third place in any competition and that only happened one time. At this point in time, 15 out of 16 possible students have qualified for the state meet in Topeka.
